Removing Snow from Hopkins Home to Prevent Costly Repairs

Challenge:

Excessive amounts of snow arrived in this Hopkins neighborhood, so the homeowners were quick to research a trusted contractor once they started noticing ice dams forming around the roof. After looking at online reviews for various places, they decided Trinity Exteriors was the company for them.

Solution:

We first began by chipping away the ice dams, making sure we chipped them to within 2-3 inches of the shingles as not to damage the roof. We then applied ice melt as an additional form of mitigation to the dams. Instead of rock salt, we use Pure Calcium Chloride Snow & Ice Melt, which is safer for plants and pavement. We then removed the snow from the roof, which takes away the fuel that builds the ice dam, so that future ice dams are less likely to form. Once complete, we ensured that all snow was cleared from the top of any walkways and entry areas of the home.
