Challenge
Throughout the year of 2022, we have worked on many houses in Hudson, WI due to the storm that came through earlier in the spring. So when these homeowners recognized that they may likely have storm damage, they were eager to get a free inspection. Over 50% of our customers come from referrals, and this one was no different. Therefore, they knew we were the right company to get the job done!
Solution
We began by giving a free inspection to their home, and we determined there was hail damage to their roof and their siding, so we got to work right away. The roof was our first priority. We tore off the old asphalt shingles, laid down new roofing felt and Ice & Water Barrier, ensuring that we put an additional layer of Ice & Water Barrier over the front entryway to provide additional protection to the home. Once this was complete, we then installed premium Owens Corning Duration Shingles in the homeowners’ choice color “Sierra Gray”, which they knew would pop with the color of their siding. Once the shingles were installed, we replaced and installed roof vents, which are important to ensure the home has proper ventilation (to prevent water damage due to humidity issues).
Our next step in the restoration was the siding. After removing the old siding, we wrapped the home with Dupont Tyvek Housewrap, which prevents water and cold/hot air from penetrating, but allows water vapor to escape in order to help balance the energy efficiency of the home. We then installed Norandex Cedar Knolls Clapboard Vinyl Siding in Silver to finish up the project. The homeowners were elated at their restored exterior and grateful for the extra protection against future storms.
