Challenge:
The challenge with this roof replacement in Rochester, MN was to make this home as hail resistant as possible for future storms. The Metro area typically sees one or two hail storms each year, which usually occurs in late July through August, and this home experienced damage from one of these storms. A friend of the homeowners recommended Trinity Exteriors, as they had a great experience with a previous restoration project!
Solution:
Our customers' property is always a priority for us. We understand your home is your largest asset, and that the last thing any homeowner would want is to come home to a brand-new roof but a lawn that's littered with shingles and nails. For this project we took great pains to cover the landscaping and driveway with tarps to prevent this. We proceeded to tear off the damaged shingles and inspect the roof decking to ensure everything was up to code. We laid down a synthetic underlayment, which adds additional protection to your home and the roof deck against leaks and harsh weather. After this we laid down Ice & Water shield and then nailed down the Owens Corning Duration Shingles in the color “Teak”.
After the roof was complete, we moved onto the siding. We tore off the old siding and wrapped the home with Tyvek Housewrap, which gives the home an extra layer of protection against water and moisture damage as well as allows the home to “breathe”. The homeowners really liked the color of the home that they previously had, so we worked with them to make sure we found an exact color match for the replacement siding, which was Mastic Carvedwood Vinyl Siding in “Alpine Forest”. The home was now completely restored and ready to endure any future storms!
