Solution
Because of our quickness to act for the tarp, they knew that they would be able to trust us with their roof replacement. Unfortunately, the fallen tree had caused structural damage to the interior of their home, so before we were able to replace their roof, we worked with an engineer from an interior restoration company and kept the homeowners informed on the timeline of their restoration project. Once the entire structural damaged was fixed, it was our turn to finish the job. We worked with their insurance adjuster to get the project going. We began with a tear off of the old, damaged shingles and inspected the decking, which we determined needed to be replaced. Once the new decking was installed, we laid down a synthetic underlayment as well as Ice & Water Barrier. Both of these protect the roof from leaks, strong winds, driving rain, and harsh weather. Once this was complete, we began nailing down the new shingles. The homeowners opted for IKO Dynasty Shingles in “Castle Gray”. After the replacement was complete, we did a thorough cleanup of the surrounding landscape by using a strong magnet to make sure there were no flyaway nails left behind.
After the roof was complete, we moved onto the siding. We tore off the old siding and wrapped the home with Tyvek Housewrap, which gives the home an extra layer of protection against water and moisture damage as well as allows the home to “breathe”. The homeowners wanted a change of color that would really stand out, so they opted for Norandex Cedar Knolls Vinyl Siding in “Jamestown Blue” to complement the color of their new roof. The home was now completely restored and ready to endure any future storms!
