Before any work started, roofing and siding contractor Trinity Exteriors worked with the homeowners to really parse out the style they wanted reflected in their home's exterior. They liked the idea of a neutral color that won't be jarring if and when styles change through the next couple of decades, but they also liked an accent of color in the gable of the home. We suggested the James Hardie shake in Hampton Red—we find this product very closely resembles actuall cedar shake, but with increased resistance to pests and impact.
Actual construction started with the roof replacement. The homeowners chose premium quality Owens Corning Duration asphalt shingles in Driftwood. We removed the turtle vents from the roof and replaced it with a more efficient Owens Corning Ridge Vent.
After we removed the old white siding and installed the combination lap, board & batten and shake siding, we installed new gutters. The end result is a beautiful, modern exterior that stands apart from its neighbors.
