Challenge:
Storms had ravaged the Rochester area, so when this homeowner noticed that one of his rental properties had some shingles missing, he knew just who to call. Because he had worked with us to get his own roof replaced, he was sure that Trinity Exteriors could take his worries away.
Solution:
The first step was to go out to the home for a free inspection. We found several areas of the roof which were clearly damaged by hail, and he began the process of filing an insurance claim. When it came time to begin the replacement, we prepped the area with tarps to prevent any damage to the surrounding area of the home. We tore off the old, damaged shingles that hadn’t been replaced in many years. We then inspected the decking to ensure that there were no soft spots and that the deck is up to local code. Our installation of the new roof starts with laying down a synthetic underlayment. We then added Ice & Water barrier, which is a self-adhesive layer that gives additional protection against driving winds or hailstorms to prevent leaks and moisture issues. Because the home had closed valleys, we had to make sure we also put valley metal flashing on that area before we could install the shingles. We then installed the shingles, which were the homeowner’s choice of Premium Owens Corning Duration Designer Shingles in the color “Black Sable”. Additionally, the chimney required custom flashing, which we were able to expertly install. We ensured that the roof had the proper amount of venting, and we were ready to wrap up the project! The homeowner was grateful for his beautiful new roof!
